Peak 4x4 Response is a Voluntary group of 4x4 owners offering logistical support in the County of Derbyshire, The Staffordshire Moorlands and the wider Peak District.

Our aim is to provide organised assistance to users such as the emergency services, local authorities and commercial organisations at times of need. The Group was established in the winter of 2006 by a small number of like-minded volunteers wanting to help with their 4x4 vehicles when adverse weather caused travel problems across the County.

Operations usually undertaken include the transportation of key workers and care staff to keep vital services going in less than ideal conditions, along with the collection and delivery of urgent food and medical supplies to remote communities that would otherwise be cut off by the winter weather.

We have also helped utility companies to distribute supplies when mains services have failed and our members have recovered many stranded vehicles in the course of our operations to allow the roads to remain passable. In the winter season of 2018 (specifically March) we handled 318 tasks over a 4 day period, providing vital transport during the ‘Beast from The East’.

We would strongly suggest that you don't leave it until you are quite literally stuck, to get in touch. An agreement can be set up at anytime, giving you peace of mind that, should you need us, we are on the end of the phone, providing a staffed 24/7 control team with access to trained, equipped responders, to assist you.

Peak 4x4 Response is no longer affiliated to the National 4x4 Response network. We are happy to welcome new members in both driving and support roles. No specific experience is necessary as training will be provided. If you have a 4x4 and wish to help your community, all we require is for you to complete some basic assessments and give a little of your time throughout the year to grow and learn and become part of our team. If you don't have a 4x4 there are other roles that are just as essential such as the control team and publicity team.

Peak 4x4 Response is currently in the process of expanding and we are looking for new members who are able and willing or if you're just looking for some information before you join please feel free to contact our membership officer or check out the FAQs page.

Peak 4x4 Response meets monthly on the second Wednesday of every month at The Robin Hood Inn, Chesterfield Road, Baslow. DE45 1PQ at 19:30. Feel free to pop along and say hello. All meetings are open with the exception of December, as this is a closed meeting for members only.
